soo.. I bought and installed an ALPINE 9886 yesterday to upgrade from stock radio.

Everything worked out great except for the fact that i think they're are some filters turned on or something isn't hooked up correctly. Ran the RCA's straight from the back of the H/u to the amp

I thought the extra voltage from the H/u was supposed to increase the voltage to/from the amp on lower volume levels.

I seem to have lost a lot of power from the amplifier... subs are functioning just sounds like they're muffled/low.

Any idea's?

Notes: New H/U = Less output from AMP/SUBS ????

none of the amplifier filters were changed after the install of new headunit

Vehicle: Accord

H/U: Alpine 9886

AMP: Saz-1500

what headunit did you have before?

Some lower line hu arent as SQ driven as others

Example, an old Pioneer I had was VERY bass heavy

I later bought an Eclipse which seemed to have no bass, but it actually had no added distortion or bass booters.

The 9886 is not made for SPL, its more of an SQ deck

get a lower line Pioneer or Kenwood, those usually have the option for bass boosts and such.

Went from stock to Alpine.

What you said about it being more of a SQ makes sense... Anyway to boost the signal to increase bass without clipping it with "Bass Boost"

Maybe line driver or EQ
