Problems with Kicker KX1200.1

bought a KX1200.1 from a very shady website I got it for less than $300 well it came yesterday I'm not ready to install it yet so to make sure it worked I took it to my local Kicker dealer and had it bench tested.. the dude said he hooked PWR, GND, and the remote wire up and it started making weird noises and said he thinks it might still work it just is making noises threw the amp itself.. so when I returned home I tested it in a friends car and I also heard the noise it sounds like a high pitched whine... also the noise comes out of the sub also we tryed it with sub unhooked no RCA's and it whines and we connected the sub with still no RCA's and a noise similar to the one coming out of the amp comes out of the subs but ALOT louder and it not a low bass note or anything its really high frequency.

I Called kicker and told them I don't have a waranty and they said $45 flat rate and they add on for how much work they do...

So should I risk returning the amp to the shady website or just have kicker repair and be happy?

If you can return it, I would do it. Getting it fixed with Kicker would add up to you having bought from a reliable source. Check eBay, they are around $350 new on there.

45 dollars for them to look at it, not counting shipping for there and back, and when they do find something wrong they charge that much more to fix it.

All though I do believe if they find something wrong they either wave the 45 dollars or reduce it. Talk to polecat, maybe you can send it to him.

I have a 300.2 that's broken and wanted to send it to kicker.......until they told me all of the above =x.

If you return it to that shady store they might charge you 20% off the total so it wouldnt be worth it, i say you talk to Polecat, he works for kicker.

sounds like another bad un-authorized deal gone wrong...with the $45, you get it back, covered under warranty provided by us...and we pay frieght back to you...so all you have is freight to us......

Funny thing, I got my gear back in and then lent my bro my Durango the day after I got it all tuned...

Oh well...

Next stop is to build the right box for the right subs...
