problems with JL 500/1

i have been hearing af so many 500/1's going its crazy in the last few weeks,, i just though a fluke but people are asking this on a bunch of forums now.. sounds like maybe a qc issue like pg gold had seeing as the slash amps are made by the same people as did the early runs for pg in korea, same buildhouse

JL and PG share the same warehouse in Korea?

wow i never knew that. If it is a bunch of defect amps that JL made, will JL recall the bunch of amps(ie, seriel numbers), or even let the public know about it? I dont get why JL doesnt authorize internet sales even though they make the amps that are sold on eBay or through the internet. Anyone know why?

Swapped out the amp with another JL 500.1? Did you have to pay for it? Or was it under warranty cause you bought it retail?

People on ebay get it from the middle man, usually an authorized reseller. They take off the serials, then sell them off ebay. JL doesnt deal with warranty without the serial, therefore, it will cost you about 180 to send it to them for repair.
