H/U- Eclipse 55060

6.5 CDT Es 620z

JL 300/2 for the comps

JL 10w3v3

JL 250/1v2 for the sub

Ok, so I swapped out my old alpine for the eclipse h/u. On the harness for the deck its got a remote wire, and there also a remote wire on the metra vehicle harness. I decided not to connect the one from the metra harness and only connected the amp turn on from the eclipse harness to the remote wire.

Well what happened? My amps didnt turn on. Is that the solution? - simply connecting that one wire to the other 2?

No sound since the deck has no preamp.

OR

I wired a 1 F Stinger Cap as well and (on accident!) when hooking up the power I touched the ground and it sparked like a mofo, but I dont think I blew it...or could I have? Its my first time using a cap, so I am unfamiliar with them, somewhat.

Any suggestions / comments / tips / troubleshooting is welcomed. Thanks

First of all, get rid of the cap, they are completely useless, you should be happy if you did fry it. Secondly, the remote wire on your cars harness is worthless, you need to run your own remote wire from your deck to your amps. Have you done that the wording is a little confusing...

Sorry for the wording. I have had the amps for about 4 months or so. Everything worked, etc.. Now when i swapped decks, I still had the remote wire from the amp(s) and soldered it to the h/u harness. I was going to scrap the cap anyway. It only gave me headaches.

so your not getting sound or its not turning on? and you need to have preouts for the amp to get a signal. if it doesnt have preouts, then why would it have a remote?

simple way to get the amp to turn on would be to connect a pigtail wire from the 12v positive on the amp to the remote on the amp. otherwise connect it to the radio fuse in the fuse box for a more permanant switched 12v.

No I meant internal amp. (Dead head). Well im trying to troubleshoot. Heck, theres many ways to get it to turn on. I just want to figure out the right solution, ya know? Like, where i went wrong and what not.

Im getting neither since the amp is needed to send power to the speakers.

lol, no..its an older model without an internal amp (eclipse 55060)...but thats besides the point...i just need to get the amps to turn on, and figure with i went wront
