The latest estimates believe the Iraq war will cost around 611 billion dollars (link)

With that money:

Every person in the United States could have almost 18 months worth of free gas.

We could convert 1,223,505,846 cars to ethanol. (Thats 9 times the ammount of cars in America).

over 75 million full-ride scholarships could be given.

ended world hunger (54 billion a year would end it by 2015)

fund primary education for every child in the world. For twenty years. (30 billion a year is one year for everyone).

was it worth it? I'm not saying saddam and iraq are full of american loving people, but 611 billion is a lot of money.

Me too. I sure as hell don't waste my money, and I sure as hell don't give it away. It pisses me off that the gov't forces me to give them a chunk of my pay, to pay for things that I don't agree with, and for programs that I will never see a penny back from. The taxes on my paychecks are about $500... Oh, the things I could do for my family with an extra $500...
