Alright, I do all my own installing. But I have a guy that wants me to install a Sony XAV-AX5500, steering wheel controls, USB extension (custom mounted in center dash), 6.5 components (6.5 in doors and tweeters in dash factory location), and a set of 6.5 coaxials in rear doors of a 2013 Subaru Impreza.

Now in my past I would charge $35 plus materials for head-unit, $35 plus materials for speakers, and $50 for the custom mount. So $120 installed plus materials. He already has the dash kit, Metra ASWC-1, wiring harness, and anything else I tell him to order. So basically $120 to do the install. Is that too little or too much?

I did install professionally over 20 years ago. And have only been doing my own and close friends since.

For todays prices that seems pretty low but at the end of the day the answer is what you believe 2 or 2.5 hours of your time is worth + all of your experience.

All the legitmate installers in my area either refuse to let a client bring their own equipment or will charge $100 per hour.

If I where you even with a friend discount I would still say at least $150 since your going to be doing a better job that those sweatshop installers + you are doing a good amount of work (6 different speakers + custom headunit job with 2 optional upgrades)
