Price Of Resin! Outrageous!!!

Does this just help with overall air flow? Make it louder? What?
yes

sometimes it does, sometimes it doesnt

idk EXACTLY what it does, but we've messed around with it and a meter. Our results are never consistant as far as losing/gaining...different on every box. Like I said though it ALWAYS raised the peak a good couple freq's.

you can get a 5 gallon like me a req did for 75 bucks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
i get 60 dollar five gallon drums at fiberglass hawaii. by the gallon at the stores is much more expensive. Try going to a whole sale distributor, if that iss an option.

The original thoughts on the subject were strictly for sealing. It does add a tiny bit of strength ( read as hardly anything ) but mainly for sealing the enclosure as close to air tight as you can get it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Nice legend... its good to see fellow legend owners into audio... nice box too. Is it an auto or 6 speed? Anyway... about resin.. So its used kind of like clay to shape and mold areas on your box? Does it affect performance of the sub at all?
where in louisiana are you?

Here in Cali, the boat supply store wanted $60 for a gallon without hardener. Hard to find ina gallon out here. Just the little quarts & they want $13-17 a quart.

Maybe someone in the bay area/central valley knows where I can get a gallon cheaper???

thanks man, its a 91 auto..heres my sd page, do you have one? I go by mds on the Legend forum..http://www.sounddomain.com/ride/635350

its a very thick liquid that hardens..so you basically just lean the box to get it to dry in the shape you want..if that makes any sense //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

sometimes it makes a pretty good difference in your score, sometimes it hurts the performance..99% of the time it raised the peak of the box, which really isnt great for a daily driver application
No i dont have a cd or sd for my legend.. its a 90 coupe.. anyways, so the resin helps stiffen up the box and may make it louder? Cuz im thinking of building a ported box for 2 memphis audio 12's (which i already have in a sealed box) or 2 alpine 10's... The car is a daily driver though and im a stickler for sq... and which legend forum? I go on http://www.acura-legend.com

I tend to use more epoxy than polyester resin. I get west systems from a local place for $45 a gallon. If I get polyester resin layup ( no wax) runs $21 a gallon, and surfacing ( wax) runs $25 a gallon. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
