Price of Paint..

I am going to be painting my truck completely black, but i am getting my friends dad to do it all and hes fixed up alot of vehicles and has done great jobs on them. he said all i had to do was buy the paint and he wouldn't charge me for the work, what a nice man lol. but how much do you pay for paint? it is a chevrolet s10 regular cab so its small. and i am from canada so i need that in canadian dollars if any canadian poster would know?

depends on what kind of paint it is, you cant just say "black"

Very true, there are hundreds of subtle shades of black. I told a guy at an auto body shop to paint my fender black before he put it back on my car and he handed me a "color sheet" with at least 20 different ways they could do it. As for the cost Depending on the kind, some automotive paints can cost someting crazy like 30 or 40 American dollars per quart, especially metalflake clearcoats and pearlescent/iridescent ones. Do i know anything else besides that? No, not really.

30 or 40 is hella cheap. for something custom, youre looking at about a 100+.

i know that Kameleon and Kromlusion run 300+ a quart.

I had some Sikkens paint priced to me for around 350 US dollars. That was for everything, I think. Also had some House of Kolor priced for 450. I have a 84 cutlass so it's a tad bit bigger. There are alot of shades of black, some look red or blue in the sun...

Black paint is tricky. many different shades and types. just go ask around some shops for paint costs. Most won't mind telling you real costs. at least not around here
