Price of beef

So I live in Kansas. I am in the market for a cow. I was wondering what the price of beef is. Cheapest i could find around here is 2.03 per pound. So I would buy a 700 pound cow for 1400 and probley get around 400 pounds of meat. Wondering if that is a good deal. If anyone knows a good place let me know. Also would be interested in places in other states if they do deliveries.

**** man just go deer hunting....get a tag, and the meat is much better for you.

also it depends what kind of cow...corn fed or grass...corn is more $$

but my uncle has a farm and we get a whole cow butchered for like $400

my grandfather owns a farm in kansas, and they have to be self sufficient, being 12 miles from the closest town. only thing they are on a grid with is power, which is backed up by more than enough generator hours to last a while.they do this as well, but with their own cattle. 400 pounds of meat is more meat than you may think. you do have a deep freeze i assume.

Get a baby moomoo, raise it, fatten it up, and murder it, way cheaper, but in the long run prbably pay a lot more due to foodz

I want the cow to eat! It's about winter so i need to buy a cow so i dont have to buy meat all winter. I love to grill in the winter too. Ill be grilling in 30 degree weather! My friends mom has some land and she has 2 cows. Cost like 400 for a calf and about 50 dollars a month to feed it. Than it cost ol'man butcher 200 to process and pack it.
