Price mark up on speakers and headunits at Best Buy?

Not to hate on the small shops at all because i understand what you mean. But with all do respect, these small shops aren't helping the economy as much as the big shops do. Every small shop ive been in has had higher prices than any big store ive ever been in.
I hear you

we try and stay competitive, but when they buy skids and skids of product, they get prices we cannot get, mostly head units. But for example, we sell SA sundown subs at the price best buy sells type r's, we sell sundown amps at half the price for twice the power that they do. ect ect. plus we dont cut corners on out installs, most of my jobs, are fixers from places like best buy...so I guess I should be happy!

Why do you care?
who cares
Trying to plan out prices, if the mark up isn't worth it, I can order stuff NOW without waiting for my friend.

speakers and subs will have the highest markup, probably around 25-60%. Acc. will have a 1-250% markup (harnesses, dash kits, wire....)amps and head units will be marked up anywhere from 15-40%. there are exceptions to all these of course....
Thank you. Very helpful.

the only thing they overprice are amps, subs and accessories other than that there prices are right in line with most shops i have been to they have the same 99 dollar cd players and speakers you see everywhere else

When I bought my first set of type-rs it cost me $300 each or something crazy like that down here in Canada... 3 years ago I believe. My amp cost another $400 and it wasnt even 800wrms LOL. I wasn't an internet nerd back then, I wish I was I would have never bought those pieces of ****. In Canada it's even worse, our retail prices are 20%+ then compared to the States, on top of that we gotta pay 12% tax.

All the stores have to mark up prices... they have a store to maintain, employees and utilities to pay and trucks to run.

Everything is cheaper if you buy it online except things like dish washers, wood, swimming pools, concrete and such not-so-easy-to-ship stuff.

Got a friend who just got a job at Best Buy. Was wondering if anyone knew the average of how much Best Buy marks their speaker's and head unit's prices up? Any information about this would be greatly appreciated //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. Friend hasn't started working yet so I can't ask him yet.
So your buddy isn't even working there yet and you're already planning on using him for his discount to buy you things //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Some friend you are, truly.
