Preventing Light flickering/Battery Loss etc

Hey folks.. First post.. Just heard of place and look to stick around.

Im fairly new to car audio but I know enough as others and been learning past few months.

I am in the process of upgrading my amp and was told that my front lights may flicker etc. I own a Jetta VR6

I currently have 2 12 kicker L7's x kicker 650.4 amp

New battery about 4-6 months ago.

I plan on upgrading to a 1000-1200 amp.

What should I do .. Or what do you suggest to avoid light flickering etc ?

Do you have ANY at all while stressing your electical right now?

Try this: at night stop somewhere and turn your lights on, ac, and then start bumping your system real loud. Do you see any dimming at all on the headlights or on your cabin dome light? This signifies fairly high voltage drop when the sub needs the power and shows the weakness in your electrical. Best thing to do first is the Big 3, then an HO alternator along with a Optima or Kinetik battery.

The alt/batt upgrade is much more expensive ($~200-600 total), and the "big 3" (do a search on this forum for the sticky post) is cheaper, yet requires a little bit of patience and general knowledge. You should do the big 3 first, then the alt/batt, because stock wiring wont cut it most times with a HO alt.

Good luck, report back!
