Premier 860mp + Ipod Cable = dont work, got this combo?

I finally broke down and bought an ipod a few weeks ago, to get rid of CD skip.

So Ive got a Pioneer Premier 860mp deck

And Ive got this cable

I installed the cable 20 min ago, simple plug into the back of the deck, and I had to wire a power/ground if I wanted the ipod to charge while plugged in. So I did that, plugged the ipod in and it charges no problem. Only thing is I cant figure out how the **** to get the ipod to work...... the only source option I have are Tuner and Compact Disc. i have the same problem but with a diff. pioneer hu. i have the aux on and it doesnt work

Turn off the cd player. Hold down the function button to bring up a menu. Scroll through and turn on AUX. You ever set the clock on it?

Nope, clock has been 3 hours off for a couple years lol

I'll try what you just said though, even thought I didnt know you could turn OFF the cd player while the car was powerred

same thing i had to do with my 960 right there...

Muwahaha, figured it out, on mine you hold source and it puts you into this demo mode and just flashes screens at you, then I press 6 to turn it off. Then held the clock button I think and the whole set time, turn aux on came up. Ipod came on yay!

But the ipod was stuck in 'play' mode, wouldnt let me go back tot he menu to pick a playlist or anything like that, might be cause its -3 out right now, stupid canada
