I'd like to see any mustang w/a 4banger engine running 12's for ALOT less than 3k?
The 3,500lb Turbo T-bird can be mid 14's with about $1000 worth of mods - my car's about 15.0 with 206,000 miles on it and about $100 worth of mods (boost control valve and a K&N filter). A mustang with the same engine weighs about 600 lbs less. That alone puts you in the 13's. A hybrid turbo and front mount IC gets them sub 13. Other than porting on the intake and exhaust manifolds the motors are usually completely stock.

Some guys build turbo ford drag cars with pintos - Those cars gutted can run 10's.

If you want to get extreme - a guy using the same engine (highly modified) in a Murkur XR4Ti, did 190+mph at Bonneville.

I just don't get it!
Not all tuners put those god awful wings on their cars, i think they are hideous and the import people that put them on there car instead of buying something else are stupid, i will give you that. and that whole front clip is from a different car, they converted it from a flip up head light 240sx to a silvia, the way it is now. And im sure when sport compact car is done this car will probably be able to kill mustangs and kill camaros, on the 1/4, 1/8 road course and everywhere else, the base weight is a huge factor, i mean look at a mustang engine, the one every one wants is the v-8 right? what does it say on the side of the car? 5.0 which i know you know that means 5 Liters ok, now have that in mind and now take the SR20DET Nissan Engine, inside Project Silvia, It is a aluminum with a cast iron bottom end 2.0 liter engine with a turbo. Ok now if you got the top of the line Silvia in 1989 and top of the line mustang, and raced them stock, you might as well give me your money now, you should know now with all the imports running around towns in the u.s. that Horse Power isnt everything, i have always believed more in Power to weight ratio and thats what the imports have going for them, and also another example is the famous RX-7, its japanese and has the 1.3 liter Wankel Rotary Engine and with just the factory turbos produced over 300hp. then you could upgrade the turbos and intercooler and get about 500hp easily, and another very very expensive example is the world famous Supra 7, its a Mazda RX-7 with a Toyota Supra engine in it, thats a straight 6. and they dynoed it and it gets alittle over 860HP So i will always put my money towards imports but people are entitled to their opinions and i will give you this. for baseline a bottom of the line mustang and bottom of the line civic in a drag race, i might give it to the mustang, but who knows.......

Heres a Picture of the wonderful Supra 7 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/satan.gif.9c6a335ed7aeeed3ee273e573f1fcaac.gif

I just found one of my Sport Compact Car Magazines and it was the issue for the America's Ultimate Street Car Challenge, and yes there was a bunch of import in there but there was a Dodge Viper, the viper won overall but thats an eighty thousand dollar car and the stuff the guy did to it totaly probably another twenty grand, and still the toyota supra in the competition beat the dodge viper in horsepower, and sinse we are talking about the 1/4 too the dodge viper got beat by a early 90's Mitsu. Eclipse the eclipse ran a 11.16 sec. and then the dodge viper ran a 12.22. so just think about it before you put your money on american muscle all the time

my boy's got a prelude. 92 i think, it's got vtec and when it kicks in, it's like a whole different car. i was amazed. also has gorgeous interior but little room in the back. my back still aches:(

yea actually the h22a4 is a good motor so is the h23. Inline 4 and 6's can turn good numbers. You forgoet many cars you like are inline 6's lets say a Supra, Skyline, BMW's

So remeber when you diss on 4bangers and inline 6's

my ´89 prelude which i bought 14 months ago ran for 140km´s before starting to spit all kinds of fluids and frying every sealcoating that was one.. had some 18" on them which was basically the only good thing of the car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
