Ok so I am getting a single 10 inch sub

Not positve on the sub yet I am looking right now.

This is not for a top notch system its just for a simple system to add a little punch.

The amp is 490wrms

I am lazy and with the winter here now I dont have the time to put together a box.

which of these 2 prefabs are better?

ported

they both use 3/4 MDF and are both over 1 cube which isn't bad for a single 10

Box with round ports "looks" to be tuned very high. If the slot port box extends all the way back and does an "L", which it looks like from the picture, then the tune should be much lower and better for a daily box...

I wouldn't touch either of those, even if I'm looking for just a little extra punch to my music. Those enclosures are almost guaranteed to destroy any hint of a decent sounding sub setup.

Ported and vented are the same thing..

But either way, just spend the $ to have someone like BJ Fisher make you a solid one, and then never worry about it again.
