Precision Power PPI 2300M vx 2150M

Why was the 2300M so expensive, or even made? The amp is basically two 2075M's put into one case. It can not be bridged further, it is only rated at 300W x2 @4Ohm. There is no rating for 2 ohm..

A 2150M was rated 150W x2 @4ohm an 300W x2 @2Ohm, could be bridged and get 600W x1 @ 4ohm.

So what is the point of the 2300? Seems to be just a big piece of eye candy.And if I remember right hugely expensive compared to its smaller brother the 2150..

The PPI 2300m is not two 2075m's, The internals are similar to the 2150 just about twice the components. I own a 2300m I still have the original manual and box with receipt. it is 2 ohm stable and power doubles at two ohms. So 2x600 rms @2 ohms with 0.02 thd. A

t the time the amp was made there were not a lot of subs that would take 600wrms. very powerful amp with excellent sound quality.

"precisionpower" is correct. The 2300m was essentially TWO 2150's in the same chassis. The 2300m was (and still is) highly thought of. They made their rated power at voltages as low as 12 volts. Which is indicative of a high quality, tightly regulated power supply. The only amp PPI offered at the time that was more powerful was the 2350DM, which was the grandfather of the JL Audio slash series still being produced today.

I love these old PPI amps and actually run a PI 2150am (along side a 4200am) in my daily driver. The 2150 powers two IDQ10d4v2 subs with each channel seeing a 2 ohm load.
