Precision Power 356CS Questions

First I'd like to know if Dei makes them or the original PPI/ADS people? Do they get loud? What comps do they compare too? Please tell me they sound better than RSD's? Can they handle more than their rated RMS? How do they compare to ID CTX65cs or Vega65cs? How do they compare to other comps rated at 100rms for the same price or cheaper? Are they aggressive or laid back?

from the specs and the few comments we got here, they aren't really that loud compared to higher efficiency speakers like cdts or id. There's a thread somewhere around in this section with every known info so far.

btw ctx65cs sound real great imo. They've been in my car for a whole year now and that's already a good sign.

What about the Soundstream TRC.6N clarity when cranked?

A guy i know got these PPI's and i was not impressed to be honest. These are made by Directed Electronics and DEI has has a history of talking quality and killing it.

The older PPI art series and powerclass had real quality but i was not liking these new ones.

Thanks for the info. I went with some other comps.

I got the 355cs's and I like them. Much better than the rsd's and dont cost that much. At first i wasn't too impressed but over the past month they have started sounding quite a bit better. Its true however that the output is not amazing. The sensitivity on these speakers are really low. If you have enough power to give them however, this shouldn't be too much of a problem.

What did you go with?
I took a chance on something cheap. If they ****, I'll sell them. I got 2 sets of Soundstream TRC.6N for cheap ($180.50 shipped). I don't expect them to be great, just decent. I do expect them to be louder than most components. I wanted to try something with a paper mid. Hopefully they'll have some SQ?

I run a front stage of 2x sets of the 365cs's off a 400x2 at 2ohm high amp and they are clear, tight and scream.

If you have good clean power $1200 highs amp 200-500w/channel id say these PPI 365's are well worth the $$

crossover network they come with is hyuge but you can tune the mids to tweeters really really well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thanks, but it's too late now?
