hey i was flipping through the pages of my brother's PPI PCX4125 manual and on page 5 of it, it reads "For systems over 300 watts, run a ground cable from the amp to the battery instead of grounding to the rear chassis." why????

a difference of opinion.

the average car's chassis is at LEAST equivalent to 4 ga. Some say as much as 2/0.

Unless you're running 1000w + there's no need at all for a dedicated ground wire. I'm running 1200-1300 with about 15' of 4 ga grounded to a seat belt bolt. V drop is about .1v at full volume.

don't waste the time or the WIRE. just find a good ground wherever your amp is. lot less time involved and grounding to chassis is just as effective. i really never seen anyone professional or do it yourselfer ground to the battery. i never have !!! don't waste the wire !!!!!
