PPI Pro12 flat piston surrounds and flat cone?

Hi, does anyone know where to get these? I don't need a recone kit. It's just that the surrounds and cones are really nasty to look at they got goo all over them and need a cosmetic touch up. These are old woofers and have a flat cone. The woofers are in perfect working condition but I want them to look decent. If I can't find the surrounds do you guys think I can use some generic ones and place an aluminum plate over the cone? will that affect performance? Will a different surround affect proformance? I'm guessing not because it only has an xmax of 5.5 mm. But what do I know. I need some opinions. Thanks.

dont ever put anything on the cone of a speaker. if the surrounds are just a little messed but not ripped/dryrotted i wouldnt mess with them either. just mount them inverted on the box and call it a day. dont destroy a rare pair of subs...........

No, do not mount an aluminum plate to the cone. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Anything you add will add weight to the moving mass, effectively throwing all the theil/small specs out the window. Performance would be hurt quite drastically if the mat'l weighed much at all.

Hey audioholic where are you located because if you are located in canada or make trips up there id definatly pick those up if you are parting them. I don't think it's worth shipping across the border beacuse I have to pay customs which is a pain in the ***.

yea, dont ruin the cones. you wont be able t recone them anyway. so you are kinda screwed.
