Actually back in the day, they were rated at 12v. So in reality the JL would put out 280 watts more than the ppi (not accounting for being underrated). Also without the built in x-over system, you get a cleaner sound with the ppi. And you can use the PPI for midbass, midrange or tweets, not just bass.....it is truly a multipurpose amp.

Not a chance in hell that the JL is > than the PPI.......

1,000w RMS @ 1.5-4ohm, 11-14V vs 600w @ 4ohm

advanced x-over system vs no x-over

brand new vs 15 years old & unknown amount of use/abuse

2-year warranty vs no warranty

$325 vs $250

.......while the PPI may sound absolutely amazing, the JL is still a very solid amplifier & has a lot of other aspects that beat out the PPI.

the 600.2 will do well over 1kw noob....

not at 4ohm....the JL will....

...& even if it does 1kw @ 2ohm....it's @ 14.4V....

the JL does it at any impendance, & any vehicle operating voltage.

Advanced x-over system......well i'll be ****....an amp that plays a range of 230 hz.....vs......and amp that can play the entire freq range. Hmmm....PPI = Win

And 1000 watts vs 600 watts......one measured at 14.5v and the other at 12v.....hmmm...and thats not accounting for being underrated. Either way....JL has more power.

New vs Used - No matter, electronics can fail at any time. Just the used one has a proven track record.

Warranty vs No warranty......No matter....cause the price offset will pay to recap the old one.

wow i guess i started a war here.

i've never heard any of the newer amps out nowadays, but i did have an a600 back in '96 so i know exactly what to expect sq wise. i currently have a infinity 311a running a junk new model 12 kicker comp and a planet audio 12 of some sort. this setup is very underwhelming.

decided to buy a sa 12 and i need a decent amp to push it.

I can get the JL Audio 1000/1v2 for $325 brand new with a warranty.

I want to see someone get JL to warranty that amp if you buy it that cheap.

They have the tightest warranty restrictions in the industry.

i wanna see a JL 1000/ do 1000 rms at 11 volts... never happening... their voltage regulation won't allow it.. they barely do 990 rms at 14 volts...
