ppi a600.2 value?

found a ppi a600.2 in a shop local, how much should i offer on it? price tag says $250. any other amps in the $200-250 range that would be a better value to push a single sa 12?

I wouldn't pay $250 for it even if it was brand new in the box. It's 15+ year old electronics.

Definitely worth the $250 asking price if it is in decent shape. Could prolly bay it for $400. They are great amps. And that "15 yr old technology" still kicks the shiat out of today's......

I've owned plenty of PPI Art gear, & sold most of it on here. As a matter of fact, it's my favorite line of amplifiers. I would rather spend my money on new equipment that has a warranty opposed to 15 year old used gear with no warranty, no telling how it was used, or when it'll need maintenance (& at some point it will).

Yeah, with all the new gear having issues all the time, warranty is a good thing. But when an amp lasts 15 years, and is still going strong....that screams quality. Even if you do need to recap it at some point, it is still 2x the machine today's are.

it is affordably repairable...

not worth it to repair chinese and korean made stuff usually.......

I can get the JL Audio 1000/1v2 for $325 brand new with a warranty. Seems like a no-brainer for ME. I said that I personally wouldn't spend that much for it. But of course sic knows everything, so that's how it goes.

If that JL sounds half as warm as the ppi I would be suprised. Also it isn't very often you see a 2 ohm stable amp that is 15 years old.

Not a chance in hell that the JL is > than the PPI.......

The PPI sounds better, but the JL does 400w more @ 4ohm & has a very nice x-over system....compared to the PPI, which has none.
