ppi 5440

I have a ppi 5440 amp i havent hooked up yet,how under rated are these amps. Im gonna use it to push a eclipse sw8122dvc which i think is around 500 rms .The specs say 200 @ 2 ohms to the sub channel .If its only gonna give it 300 should i just sell it and get a bigger 5 channel or will it be ok? thanks

It will work ok but, you'd be better off running an amp that puts out power that it better matched to your sub. If it was me, I'd hook it up and see how it sounds. Specs can't provide real world experience. If it does what you need it to, then run it.

just get a small mono block for the sub.
