I'm thinking of getting a shiva sub fairly soon and the other day I was thinking that if I wire the vcs in parallel I would get a resistance of 4ohms right? If that is right then I would need a sub that puts out around 600w at 4ohms. The only reason I was thinking about this was that I narrowed my choice for a amp down to 2 amps, a JL 500/1 or a JBL 600.1, but if I have to wire the shiva at 4 ohms then I would need like a JBL 1200.1 as it puts out 600w @ 4ohms while the 600.1 puts out 300w @ 4ohms. Anyways could someone tell me if I am correct in this?

yes your are correct. I would go with the jbl 1200.1 so you can upgrade later.

K thx for telling me I was right about that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I have one more question, with a JBL 1200.1 will it be too much for the stock alt in my 91 Buick Regal? My dad had it checked at work a few months back and said it was putting out like 120A or something...is that enough amperage to power that amp and not have my lights dim too badly?
