would that amp be alright to power 2 RE 8's? it says 150x2 at 4 ohms, and the re8's are 4 ohms i believe...300x2 at 2 ohms if you could wire the 8's down to 2 ohms, i dunno what im talking about, someone help im lost //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif im kinda on a budget, so if this one isnt good can someone please point me in the direction of a good amp for my situation?

it only takes like 80-140 watts rms to power the re 8's big bass man has 18 of them working on 2000-2400 watts doing well over 150 db. thinking it is on soundillusions forum named camp lloyd

18 8's huh... interesting.

i've thought about running 4 8's before (S8L7's) but thats costly. i dunno if it would work or not... i'll figure it out later.

According to RE's website, the RE8's have dual 4ohm coils, which means each sub could be wired down to 2ohm.

So, looks like that amp might be a little too powerful for it.

....funky pups.... 8" = $4.06.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

yeah the RE8's are Dual 4-ohm. at least the new ones are. the older models are Dual 2-ohm.

2 Dual 4-ohm can be wired to a 1-ohm or 4-ohm load

2 Dual 2-ohm can be wired to a .5-ohm or 2-ohm load

BTW, I have 8 RE8's and I am in high 140's on new mic. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

??? I have the old model and they are Single 2-ohm, not dual.
