powered RCA outputs?

Hey guys, I have a small dilemma. I have a Panasonic CQ-C7301U head unit that is from '05.. It has the standard power 10-pin or so connecter that powers the head unit and runs to the stock speaker wiring... I just redid the wiring to my front speakers and was planning on hooking them up directly to 2 of the 4 RCA output connecters on the head unit.. but I get no sound from them. Are those RCA outs powered by the internal head unit amplifier? Or do I need to run them through a 4-channel amp first?

Thanks.

I would rather not have to splice the wires from the harness into my new speaker wire...

I want this: Headunit --> RCA outputs -> new speaker wire -> speakers..

The question is, are those RCA outputs powered by the headunit?

lol, the answer is NO you can not run the speakers directly off the RCA outputs of your deck. It has to go through an amplifier first or you can hook the speakers up directly to speaker outputs (part of that 10 pin plug)

NO, rca outputs are not powered. this question will go down in epic fail history, lawl.

1.) Run RCA to an amp and then speaker wire from the amp to your speakersOR

2.) Run "new" speaker wire to the appropriate wires in the back of the HU
Thank you.

Thank you. That's the answer I was looking for.

rca outputs are not powered.
All I needed to know. No need to be a complete ******* about it.
