How are the PowerBass subwoofers and amps? I havnt really heard much about htem and I havnt been shopping for car audio for awhile now. Are they a reputable brand or some shit brand like pyle/legacy?

Im going to be putting 1 12' in my civic

would this be a decent choice?

If any Powerbass, get the PBX 3XL.. its supposed to be a loud streat beater.

I would suggest PG over Powerbass subs, and their amps are similiar to Power Acoustik

Thanks for the input, mainly im loking to get only one 12" sub and power it with either the bazooka amp I have (El500) which is 500rmsx 1 @2ohm (I know its most likely a little overrated) or I may sell that am and get a hifonics mono....

I want mainly SPL but decent SQ as well, I hear mixed opinions on the Alpine R's and I also was thinking of the kicker s12L5 as I can find those for about $900 on ebay.

Im open to any suggestions and I would do most shopping on ebay.

If an L5 cost 900$ run away. I got my brand new warrentied 06 L7 for 220$

i got it off of ebay 2 and type R's are good drivers espically for the money. I think both of those subs will want more than that amp will give them. I would reccomend like 1200rms and a 06 L7 and a ported box or something like that.

Sorry,.... I meant $90... its actaully $75 plus $25 shipping so $100 on ebay right now.... I believe they laste years or 04 models... brand new in the box though.

thats what I was thinking, I probably will just try to sell this amp for around $50-60 to a friend and then check ebay for a decent hifonics for aroun $150....

I would check the classifieds here for an amp. Just make sure they have references. I see plenty off 1000-1500rms reliable amps for 150-200$. I would get the 06 models of the solobarics. Kicker ppl say the 06 L5 is like the 05 L7. So the 06 is a step up from the older models.

I havent used any powerbass subs, but their built quality (especially the 3xl model as mentioned before) looks pretty decent. The amps are pretty **** good too (the only problems i had was having them installed ontop of a flexing box, and after prolonged periods of 150db+ it managed to rattle the caps off the board (from what I have learned was a common occourance for the first batch of amps)

i can think of a few of my friends who do competitions and swear by powerbass...

I know that I have been impressed with their 3000d...
