power????/

I have a 13w7, I'm thinking of getting a power acoustik 1800. 1 ohm @ 1400 and 2 ohms @about 900. Wired sub to 1 1/2, is this enough power, Or do I need to just get the jl 1000/1? Someone told me the odd ohm rating would throw the amp off and I really wont get anything out of it, is this true? Any suggestions? I also have 4 bostons acoustic sl95 6x9's(60rms) How much power can they really handle and any idea as far as amps for these also have 2 61/2's(Bostons also). What do I do??????

Who told you you 'need' the 1000/1? Was it a JL dealer?

Yes, the coil configuration on the W7s is a bit odd as compared to other drivers but wired to 1.5 Ohms and assuming that the output ratings on that PA amp are fairly accurate it should be fine. I think that will b more then enough. Your amp should push that fine and ive never heard of an amp being "thrown off" because of odd ohm.....

If you have the beautiful JLW7, espically the goddes of the 13.5 you should get a 1000/1.

i think that your amp would be putting out ~1250 watts, thats good for the JL as long as you set your gains correctly.

Seeing as they will only need to play mids and highs you could easily get away with 50 watts RMS to each speaker, higher frequency's take much less power to reproduce loudly then sub bass frequency's do.
