I have both, the stinger HPM is actually more copper looking than the Kolossus kable.

because i bought a bunch of the speakerwire... and its all silver coloured so im figuring its alum. the power wire might be copper but on principle alone im not going to buy anymore

That's because it's tinned copper, which is actually better than plain old copper. The tinned copper will resist corrosion much better. All boat wiring is done w/ tinned copper wire to protect it from the elements. I'm not sure if one has more resistance than the other.
