Power up amps

My HU is dead so my amps won't power up .Is there a safe way to by pass the HU and have amps power on when the car is started? How about disconnecting the power plug from the HU and jumping the constance +12v with remote wire on the plug? I just don't want the amps to be on all the time or worse. I was going to play a SonyDiscman through the amp, until my new HU arrives. Thanks

Run your remote amp wire to the acc wire for your hu, or run it to an acc at the fuse box.
