Power needed

Well, I now need to choose some amps and I'm not sure how much power I need. I know more is always better, but I don't have money to feed my Koda 8s 300 watts each. Originally,I wanted to purchase some Orion amps, but I don't think I have cash to buy Orion amps with the power I want, so I'm going to purchase Hifonics amps. Now, the Koda 8s will be in my doors and I'm running them from about 200hz (or whereever I cross them) all the way down. Would 150 watts per driver suffice? Adire says one should feed the drivers no more than 150 watts continous. Now midranges and tweeters. I will use a 4 channel amp to run these and both are rated at 8 ohmns. Power handling for the tweeter and mirdange is around 80 watts RMS. Would an amp making 100 watts into 4 ohmns work well, or could I use less power?

Any speaker will work underpowered, but you're looking at possibly going gain happy. Since the Kodas are 4 ohm, and the mids/highs are 8 ohm, I'd say cross over the mids and highs for an 8 ohm load and get a good 4 channel 150 watt / channel amp. Your Kodas will run off two channels and get 150 watts apiece, the mids/highs will run off the other two channels, and being 8 ohms, will get 75 watts apiece.

So my sugguestion: 150x4 amp, two channels for kodas, two channels for mids and highs.

The mids and highs are 2 seperate drives, I need 6 channels of amplification total. 150X2 at 4 ohmns will work for the Kodas. I guess, then I'll need an amp capable of 150X4 at 2 ohmns then for the mids and highs.
