power light on re xtx 5000.1

i just purchased a xtx5000.1 to power my xxx12d2 and when i turn my blazer off the power light is dimmly lit. when the vehicle is on and the amp is switched on the power light is bright and it seems the protection light is dimmly lit. anyone have any thoughts??
