power inverter help?

I want to buy a CD player with a USB port or input and I would like to add a plug and play portable hardrive to this setup for all my music for my car. I cant find a hardrive that draws less than 500ma or current so I was wondering what kind and size of inverter I would need to power this and what would be the cleanest and best way to hook the inverter without seeing it? thanks.
