Just have a question about powering my comps. Should I get a 4-channel amp and power both the tweets and mids off of one amp or can I run a 2-channel for mids and a 4-channel for the tweets for the comp set and the other set of tweets I'll be running? I'm just wanting to have the most economical setup along with the easiest to wire up

well think of it this way....

If you get a 4 channel amp for the mids and tweets, you'll have a discrepancy in power needed between the two drivers. This can be alleviated via the gain setting to some degree. If you are wanting more than 100ish watts for the mids, I would get a 2 channel amp for them and get a 4 channel for all of your tweets. You shouldn't need a ton of power for the tweets and the amp will run will less strain powering 4 tweets vs. 2 mids and 2 tweets.

So,

2 channel for mids

4 channel for tweets

The extra set of the tweets is for the rear of the truck. The passengers will be sitting on the 4 8s and I don't think the 4x6s in the rear will be enough to pick up the highs so I was going to put a tweet in the middle pillars between the front/rear doors.

Then what's the purpose of powering the mids and tweeters with separate channels? I wouldn't even bother. Just get a single 2-channel higher powered quality amp for the front speakers

I wouldn't bother yet. Hook everything up, leave just the 4x6's hooked up if you are going to run rearfill. If it's not enough, just find a small 25w or 50w x 2 for the tweeters. But I would rather have lacking highend in the back than too much, which will bleed through to and interfer with the frontstage.

so if I get a high powered 2 channel how will I hook up the tweets? Do I just run them through the crossover or is there something special I have to do?

This is what I plan on doing with my front comps eventually once I get my hands on some germs...160 watts RMS x 2 (bridged) @4 ohms off my Kenwood and run the rear fill off the source alone unamped. The 10w0 don't change they get the 500/1's...

well what I'm planning on doing is powering the kicks with a Crossfire VR602, the dash/rear with a Crossfire VR404, and my 4 Audioque LW8s with either 2 VR1000Ds or a VR2000D
