Hi guys,
This is my first post here, and I know a lot of forums have those members who go mental over posting in the wrong place, so I hope this is correct. I also couldn't find a past post that was exactly similar.
Unfortunately the box for my stereo and the manual were thrown away while I was gone, but I don't think that is absolutely crucial here. I've had the same Pioneer head-unit for roughly 4-5 years now (it was one with the powered fold down face, not the spring loaded).
Recently, while driving, all of a sudden the screen/lights shut off on me. The sound still worked fine, so I thought, eh, whatever, hopefully I wont have to disconnect my battery anytime soon. But then a couple weeks later the sound would cut out every once in a while. Then it started doing it more frequently, and then one day it just all together cut out - and now I have nothing.
As far as I can tell with the multimeter, I definitely still have power to the head-unit. All the wire connections seem tight as well (at the least, there were no free floating wires).
Any idea what the hell it could be? Do you think I just got my use out of it, and now it's time for a new one?
After this process I turned my key on to see if I fixed anything (I didn't) and my dash lights/gauges started going psycho clicking and flickering up and down.... Just wonderful. Although I don't think that was anything more than my *poopy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif battery, so i'll find that out later tonight when I try to start it.
Thanks
