power bass?

maybe im just missing out, but who can give me some input on these

a friend of a friend owns two, and claims they are "competition subs," are these supposed to be good subs or something because they look kind of lame

i'd appreciate any info in the right direction, thanks

depends on what series you have. a friend of mine is going to be doing a couple 3XL 15s, with 3000 watts. from what i hear they get loud, but if you want to compete with them, youll have to recone after each show, although that is VERY debatable.

i have no personal experience with them though, im very anxious to see the 3xl though, and the 4xls just came out as well, they have like almost a 1000 oz magnet on it i believe. it has a dual layer kevlar cone, 4-inch flatwind coil, 4 layer double stitched foam surround. and 1088 oz magnet. if you go to their website, its on the xtreme catalog. last page. its like i said its all about what series you buy

i dont think that the 3xl's can be reconed and thats a big disadvantage of powerbass subs. I had a older powerbass xs 12'' and i enjoyed it. It was a pretty good little sub and held up to 1500 all day when it was only rated at 800. I have never heard any of the new stuff except for 8 15's in a tahoe and its really loud.

they have 6 lines of subs, S,M and L in the autosound line. XL, 2XL and 3XL line in there xtreme line.

I have sold powerbass for about 3 years and have yet to replace a single woofer.

the 3xl is there "competition sub". Any woofer with alot of power behind it and to take a beating in spl will blow in time.
