Power and ground wires spark

I just hooked up my amp(Mark Antony MK1500 hooked up to 2 12" kicker L7's) and it worked for a couple hours and then when i turned my car on later it didn't work. So i checked the wires and everything looked fine but when i turned on the car it went into protect mode. I tried unhooking the wires(4 gauge if it matters) and hooking them back up and whenever i hook the ground and then the power wire up it sparks and keeps sparking every time i touch it to the amp. I tried hooking it up the other way and it does the same thing with the ground wire. Anyone have any ideas why it does this? Thanks

ding ding ding - the answer to your problem is to find someone who knows how to install car audio to do it for you. Step one of any changes to your stereo is to yank the battery power or yank all fuses between batt and your equipment.
