power and ground wire size

im gonna put 1/0 wire on my ground cable but do i need 1/0 on my power cable also? does the power cable have as much amperage running through it? just wondering what everyone usually puts in there car. i have a 2500d orion

I'd say use 1/0 gauge for power and ground.

You absolutely need at least 1/0 gauge for the power also. I'd go with some Knu Kollossus since it's actually 2/0 gauge by AWG standards = less voltage drop.

Current is not destroyed or "drops" like voltage. So yes, there is the exact same amount of current flowing through your power wire as your ground wire. And like everybody else said 1/0 for sure. Knu is the place to get it too, way less cheaper then the $10 per foot I was quoted at the local audio store:crap:

Always match power and ground... and make sure it'll handle your amperage. In your case, 1/0 is the correct choice.
