Power (amperage) requirements

Is a class D amp just as power hungry as an A/B? In other words, all things being equal (RMS wattage) will they each put the same demand on the vehicle's electrical system?

No. not even close. Except cheap, ****** amps like hifonics and audiopipe. They are just as bad as A/B

actually after using both. I'd say you shouldnt put audiopipe in the same sentence as hifonics. Audiopipe is a huge margin better than the brutus amps. Brutus amps arent anywhere near as loud and clean sounding with the bass and has a nasty roll off below 30hz. Thats with a 2200 vs an audiopipe 1500. The new hifonics lines are basically boss level and priced high.

Such a shame I remember when hifonics was decent. I still have a new unbuilt 4" coil titan motor I'd love to get a old goliath motor just for fun.

Yeah surprising how an amp double in size of the audio pipe, has beefier looking guts however 4 gauge inputs and is about 70% as loud as the audiopipe
