Possible to listen to PANDORA with an Ipod adapter?

I have an iPhone 3G, and I was using the adapter that plugged in where the head phones plug in. Today I installed the adapter for my pioneer (CD-IB100II), and now it goes straight to the ipod songs when I plug it up. It wont allow it/me to play PANDORA. Is there a way to still be able to listen to it without going back to the other plug?
