Possible to bring speaker sub level down?

So when I first got my car I was pretty excited about it caz I really didn't need a sub system in there. The car speakers were already bumpin. Like really bumpin. Now I got a system in there and the car speakers tie in with the subs I got and It's kinda killing the point. Anyway to bring them down? Or could I rewire them somehow to bring its level down?

turn the low's down on the hu equalizer and the sub output up?

cant; equalizers only go for fade, balance, bass and treble

if i bring the bass down from the hu the subs level goes down

Get an external crossover, or what about the pts in the amps if your not using an external crossover?
