possible cancellation in a 3 sub setup

i am not the happiest right now:

1)its 1130 on a saturday night and im on the forum

2) my subs are not giving me the output id like. the frequency response is not good at all with a huge peak around 45hz. I am thinking there might be some cancellation because it wont his the lows very well and sometimes when I turn it up loud i think I hear some weird noises coming out of the subs, like a thumpish kinda sound.

i ahve each wired in parallel and then the 3 together in parallel and I could have easily switch one by accident.

What would it sound like if one is switched and there is cancellation???

what amp ?And in the enclosure does each sub have its own space or do they share ?
the amp is a opti2000d, the setup is listed in my sig...... Its pretty hard to tell the difference excursion of the subs when they are playing. They share a common chamber

Take a 9v battery and tap it to the wires to your subs. Keep the battery facing the same way and if they all dont move the same direction one of them is out of phase. They should realistically all move out I beleive. If everything is working correctly.

if the subs are in a commen chamber you should be getting really broad cancellation. and the noise issue isn't really a sign of cancellation.

if you can, test each sub seperately. with any sub not under test, short the voice coils (and obviously disconnect from the amp) or remove it from the box and place a board there (get airtight seal). with the subs in place you get a "passive radiator". shorting the coils allows the sub's motor to resist moving. in anycase it should help show if any single woofer has issues.

the peak at 45hz may be an acoustic issue with the vehicle, or maybe a bass boost feature turned on someplace. you may concider using an EQ to remove the excessive bass.
