possible blown voice coil?

i have a ma audio hk15x2 and when i lightly puch on the woofer i can hear and feel something. also when i have it wired at 1ohm it works but make a noise and wired at 4ohm it does not work. or it could be the other way around i for got. is their a way to check the coils with a dmm and is it possible to put a new coil in it or something

is it scratchy?? Could be a tinsel lead rubbing.. when it plays is the noise like its slapping against someting?

If it still plays, then i don't think it would be the actual VC....

yea on a dmm touch the leads to the corresponding terminal and see what the ohms are if it reads 4 and its a dual 4 ohm sub

i tested it. i did both and they both were 2ohm. then i put the dmm to the speaker wire that would plug into the amp and it read 2ohms also.

i thought dual 2ohm sub could only be wired at 1 and 4ohms.
