Ok, problems... I have an Eclipse CD3000 and two Ascendant Audio Arsenals 12's running to an ED NINe.1 wired to 1 ohm for 1200w total... Well here's my dilemma:
My system is set to a listening volume of 74/80, but when I turn it down to 50-55, my subs start to crackle and cut in and out, but its hard to notice since they aren't very loud at that low volume.. is this my amp or HU? My front speakers don't do it... which is why I think it's my amp (not to mention my amp has been gettin really hot lately, and making some growling noises back there lol.. and if "I try to adjust the gain sometimes a pop is heard), but then again it might just be in the low frequencies which is why I don't hear it in my front speakers... but also the crackling and cutting in and out makes me think it's just the amp not the frequencies/HU.. any suggestions?
Thanks!!
P.S. My speakers have ALWAYS sounded slightly muffled, anyway to get better SQ out of them? They are elemental designs components running to a ED NINe.2 amp at 100w per side..
