Hey guys I just got some beastly 6x9 Pioneer REVS and I'm trying to install them.

I have a '96 Civic and I need help with the wires.

The two wires on the right side are: Red w/Yellow stripe and Light Brown w/ White stripe

The two wires on the left side are: Blue w/ Yellow stripe and Grey w/ White stripe

I'm pretty sure the the wires with the yellow stripe are the positives and the whites stripe ones are the negative but I'm not sure.

What do you guys think?

?? I'm trying to put them in before tonight because as of now I don't have any speakers in my car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Alright it worked. Not too impressed but it's probably because I'm not giving them enough watts..

But now my lights dim when the bass hits and I don't even have my sub in yet....

I haven't done the big three (which i need to) but I can't do it.

I WILL PAY SOMEONE TO MEET ME IN AUSTIN, TX AND DO THE BIG 3 TO MY CAR!

Your lights should not be dimming off of headunit power; they draw minimal current.

Oh sorry, not my car lights. The car lights and gauge needles are fine right now but the HU lights are dimming a lot. I don't know if the big 3 will do anything about this since the speakers are running of the HU but regardless, i need it to be done

Where should I look??

The ground for the hu is a tiny speaker wire like 1 billion guage and its connected to the stock ground cable that was with the stock Hu (part of the wire harness i think)

And same size wire with the 6x9s. I tried to trace those grounds but they run with like 4 other wires and are covered with protected sleeves. They dissapear in my car..

Also a way to test speaker wires for polarity is to hook them up to a battery.

AA or AAA both work fine. Attach one wire to the negative side of the battery (tape or just hold it on) and then tap the other wire to the positive side. Whenever both wires make contact you should hear a scratching noise on your speaker. If the cone moves out (toward you) that means that the wires are in the correct places, if the cone pulls back (away) that means your wires are crossed.

hmmm....dude at work has the same problem when he turns his volume up. He has a '03 civic. I have a '93 civic but mine runs fine. Difference is that when he goes over volume 25 the head unit shuts off. Never seen that happen before neither have the guys i work with. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
