Ported or not ported

i got a 15" rockford fosgate punch p2 should i get a sealed or a ported box for it?

Those boxes suck. Look elsewhere or have someone reputable on here build a real box for you. Those cheapy boxes on ebay are absolutely horrible.

That ad for the ported box doesn't even list the specs correctly either. It has 3.4ft^3 listed as the box volume, but the entire box isn't even that large, let alone after port displacement...I also can't imagine what it's tuned to.

Do you have the tools to build your own box? All you really need is a circular saw, a drill, a straight-edge of some sort, and some clamps to secure the straight-edge while cutting.

Well you get the ability to make it fit whatever dimensions you have available instead of buying something pre-made. It also allows you to build a box specifically for that woofer and your personal preferences. Also, most pre-fab ported boxes are too small and tuned too high. Any box worth buying is going to be more expensive than you making it yourself.

yeah i think ill just make my own box. is there a website that can help be with the tuning of the box and help me with the dimensions so i can get it right and for it to sound good?
