I'm trying to find dimensions to make a ported box for the Alpine SWR-12D4 12" subwoofer. I plan to power it with the Precision Power PPI BK1800.1D wired at 2ohms. My car is a 2006 Acura TL and the trunk allows a box up to 16" height and 30" width. Someone recommended I make a box that is 2.4-2.6 cu ft @ approx. 34-36hz.

I came up with a box in Torres below. Anything I should change?

iirc a type R goes best in a 2.25-2.5 box @32 hz

So id build one with around 2.5 ft^3 @ 33-34 hz before displacement

I had a single R in a 2ft^3 @32 before displacement and feeding it 700 watts and i wasnt impressed by it.

How's this? I made the gross volume 2.5ft^3. Is that correct or does the net volume need to be that?

Assuming that calculator is accurate, id aim for a net volume of 2.5ft^3. That means after you have put the sub in, its actually seeing 2.4ft^3

and yeah keep the tuning around 33 for a target of 32
