port tuning in clamshells--tips for me and others

does anyone know how to tune ports in a clam shell? is it similar to a 4th order or 6th order bandpass at all? my application would have two separate enclosures, a left and right, and a center open enclosure that both would fire into. .....it is a a blow through design for a truck.

since the "open" enclosure is as it simply is put, open. there is not a port to be tuned as in a 4th order or 6th order. what I need to know is, how do I calculate what the ports, for the left and right enclosures, need to be tuned to.

if this has already been discussed in another thread please link me and then flame for my lack of search skills.

we had no idea how exactly to tune ours. we just added port length till we got it playing how we wanted it. we measured it all out cube wise and the port opening and got a rough tuning. then added length to the opening till we were happy. either way i have no idea what mines tuned too
