i am building a box for my rl-p which i will be buying soon, and found alot of different people have a large variance in port area. i have seen some with 38sq inches, and some that say use like 50. i am thinking a 3 x 15 inch port would be taking up too much space, should i just do 2.5 x 15. that would be a heck of alot easier for me space wise? just looking for the rl-p owners to step in. the box is for reference 2.5cf tuning somewhere between 28-32hz.(not sure yet).

thanks for any replys.

ive had my RL-p15 in 3.15cu ft @ 28hz with 40sq. inches of port area (16x2.5), had no problems with port noise etc. the box was a coffin though since the tuning was so low

i say as long as you meet the recommended 30+sq. inches, you'll be fine
