Port size difference in sound??

I just need to know what would be different in sound between a box with 28sq inches of port vs a box with 40sq inches of port. Both boxes have the same cf and tunning only difference is the port size. Kind of a broad question I know but I have yet to get any kind of legit answer on what the difference would be.

To my knowledge it has to do with port noise, smaller ports have a tendency to create port noise causing some sort of distortion.

It might be something else, but this is all I have been told.

also, the larger the port the more efficient the box will be. a more efficient box will generally be louder on the same power.

I've heard a bigger port has a larger peak around tuning.

Thats kinda how my system is being built. I dont have to many watts to be throwin to my sub but the box is gonna make up for it:naughty:

Don't believe the hype. He got 8 funky pups in 8 pabst blue ribbon 12 pack boxes , separate chambers , sealed with duck tape and used tall boy beer cans for ports .
