Port placement on triple 10" type r box?

I have a box in the works for my 3 type r 10's and it has 3 seperate chambers all roughly 1.3 cubes each. I purchased 3 four inch flared ports to put one in each chamber but I dont have alot of room. Would it be okay to mount ports directly behind subs as long as they were 4" away from magnet? I really dont want to have alot of port sticking out of the top of box. Dimensions are 34"w, 14"h, 20"d. I am cutting ports to 13" for tuning.View attachment 26545776

well I'm pretty much done with the box except for Ports. just need to know if there is any cons to placing ports behind subs

I'd suggest making it one complete chamber with one large port (prob find it takes up less space too)

Did you design the box with port, driver and partition displacement accounted for?

If so, did you account for the ports to be entirely inside or outside the box? Or maybe, partially inside and outside the box?

It looks like the way you have it currently, your best bet would be to have shared chambers for the subs with those ports.
