port length on a aeroport

is it to be measured from the top of the flange to bottom of the opposite flange or is it to measured as the length of the straight section only?

Sorry if its a newbie question but ive always used a slot port..

When you buy an Aero Port they give you the install instructions. If the size say's the port is 15", then you cut the tube to 10" and install the flared ends. If I remember right the total length ends up 1" longer than the required size.
